Cooper's Field Day
Discovery Museum

Shopping like mom!
Oooh! Cool!
Bubbles!

For Mother's Day I told Randall I wanted to take the kids to do something fun. So, on Saturday we decided to go to the Discovery Museum in Boise. Cooper and Carson had a blast! For once I didn't have to tell them to quit touching things, because that's what they were supposed to do at this museum! They got to make giant bubbles, see how magnets worked, go shopping, etc. It was great!
These are pics from my Mother's Day Dinner. No, Randall didn't do it all by himself, but at least he was around to help! I just love fresh strawberries. Dipping them in chocolate was an extra special treat!

Roasted salmon with chimichurri sauce. Mmmm!

Cinco de Mayo and a bump on the head

Last night we had some friends over for a Cinco de Mayo party. After we ate, the kids all went outside to play. I heard someone crying and went outside to check it out and found Cooper looking like this. I'm not sure how it happened exactly. Cooper just said they were racing and he hit his head on one of his bike handlebars. Ouch! Randall told him he had a pretty good goose egg. Cooper replied with, "But I don't want to have an egg on my head!"

Pretty much a cowboy...
Randall reminded me of this the other day, and its just too funny to not document.
While our family and friends were here for Easter and Lainee's baby blessing, Cooper was outside talking to our friend Paul and my Dad (aka Grandpa Wilcox). They were complimenting Cooper on his cowboy boots, which are new, because he outgrew his old pair. I was not there, so I assume the conversation went something like this:
Paul: Those are some pretty cool boots, Cooper.
Cooper: Ya, they're my new, nice cowboy boots, because my old ones got too little.
Paul: Where did you get them from?
Cooper: Well, my mom got them from the store.
Grandpa Wilcox: The store, huh?
Cooper: Ya, its a cowboy store. I have a cowboy hat, too, like my dad's.
Paul: Oh ya? Where did you get your hat?
Cooper: Well, I think my mom got it at the store, too. But it's in the house. My mom said I couldn't wear it today.
Grandpa Wilcox: Why can't you wear it today?
Cooper: Well, just because it's kinda dirty.
Paul: Hmmm.
Cooper: Yep, I'm pretty much a cowboy!

Where does he come up with this stuff???

Only a Mother...
The other day I was putting Cooper and Carson in the bathtub. I was already running water in the tub, and as I pulled Carson's diaper off I could see this look on his face, like he really had to pee. So I asked him if he wanted to pee in the toilet. He said, yes (he always wants to pee in the toilet, but he never actually goes, he just stands there.) As I started to get up to help him over to the toilet he started peeing on my leg. I jumped up and dangled him over the toilet. By this time, I had scared him and he couldn't go anymore. So I just stood him on the stool in front of the toilet and let him stand there next to Cooper while Cooper went. All of a sudden Cooper yells, "Mom, Carson's peeing in the toilet!" Sure enough, there was Carson, peeing in the toilet like a big boy! He had the biggest grin on his face, and all he could say was, "Yeaaaa! I did it!" It was so cute!

Later, I told Randall that only a mother could be so pleased to have her little boy pee on her leg. But look at what it led to... Carson's first time peeing in the toilet. Potty training here we come! Ha, ha. Actually, Carson did want to wear underwear just like Cooper that night, so I put them on overtop of his diaper.
