Memorial Day Fun

We didn't have much planned for the long weekend, and after spending most of the month at the hospital or doctor's office with Randall or at the school with the kids, I was ready for a change of pace. So we invited Randall's sister and her family over and just hung out. The kids played and played and played, went on a few four-wheeler rides, and we went on a little cemetary hunt to find the oldest head stone we could find. Growing up, Randall and I both spend Memorial Day visiting the gravesites of family members. We've never lived close enough to be able to do that, but I still wanted my kids to know why we celebrated Memorial Day. So we walked around, looked at the flags representing someone who served in the military, and I gave the kids all a piece of paper and a crayon to do a headstone rubbing. Pretty neat!
